Working in Sycamore
The ground here is flat to gently rolling farmland with the Kishwaukee River and its creeks winding through it. Timber is mostly along the water and in old farmstead groves, and new building has been pushing out into the fields for years.
That makes for two kinds of work: clearing and grading lots and building sites on the edge of town, and cleaning up fence rows, groves and creek edges on farm ground.
We already travel to DeKalb, so Sycamore is the same trip. Send the address and we can usually say quickly whether it fits with other work out that way.
What we get called for here
- Land Clearing. Wooded or neglected acreage opened back up for pasture, food plots, or a building site.
- Site Preparation. Ground stripped, cut and packed into a pad that will hold a building.
- Forestry Mulching. Standing brush and saplings ground into cover in one pass. Nothing burned, nothing hauled.
- Grading & Land Leveling. Low spots filled, high spots cut, water sent where you actually want it.

Do you work year-round?
Yes. Mulching and clearing carry on through the colder months, and winter is often the better time for it — the ground is firm, there are no leaves in the way, and you can see what you’re working with. Snow plowing runs through the same season.
How long does a job take?
Small jobs — a fence row, an overgrown lot, a driveway regrade — are often a day or less. An acre of heavy, mature growth takes considerably longer than an acre of light brush. You’ll get a realistic time estimate along with the price, not an optimistic one.
Do I need to be there while the work is done?
Not usually. What matters is that the boundaries are clear and we agree beforehand on exactly what’s coming out and what’s staying. Marking anything you want left — a good tree, a well head, a buried line, a property pin — is time well spent.
What size jobs do you take?
Anything from a single overgrown lot up to multi-acre clearing and full site work. Smaller jobs closer to home are easy to fit in; smaller jobs at the far edge of the service area are best paired with other work in the same week.

From First Call to Usable Ground
Call or Text
Call or text (815) 240-9065 or send the form. Roughly how many acres, what is growing and whether a truck and trailer can get in.
We Look at the Ground
James looks at the ground before he gives you a number, so the estimate fits the job in front of him.
The Work Gets Done
We agree on what comes out and what stays. Then the machines go to work, with James running them.
Ground You Can Use
You are left with ground you can walk, mow, build on or farm, and the topsoil stays where it belongs.
