New ponds — digging and excavation
Siting comes first — you want a bowl that will actually hold and a watershed that will actually fill it. Then shaping the basin, building the dam or berm, setting the overflow, and finishing the banks so they don’t slough.
Renovation and cleanout
Older ponds silt in from the upstream end and get shallow where they used to be deep. Pulling that sediment back out restores depth and volume. Banks and overflow structures usually need attention at the same time.
The overflow is the whole thing
A pond without a properly built emergency spillway is a dam waiting to be cut by the first big rain. It gets built in from the start.

What does a job cost?
It depends on acreage, how thick the growth is, how big the material is, the terrain, and how hard the site is to get equipment into. Two properties of the same acreage can be a full day apart in work. That’s why estimates are free and why it’s worth looking at the ground rather than quoting off a map.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text, or send the form on the contact page. The details that help most up front: roughly how many acres, how thick it is, what’s growing on it, whether a truck and trailer can get in, and when you’d like it done.
What size jobs do you take?
Anything from a single overgrown lot up to multi-acre clearing and full site work. Smaller jobs closer to home are easy to fit in; smaller jobs at the far edge of the service area are best paired with other work in the same week.
How far do you travel?
Regular work runs from the Illinois Valley north to Sterling and Dixon, east toward DeKalb, and west into the Quad Cities. Outside that, it’s still worth asking — travel for a job that justifies it isn’t a problem.
What usually goes with it
