Working in La Salle
The two towns share the same ground: river bottom along the Illinois and the old I&M Canal, then bluffs and wooded ravines climbing up to the flat land north of town, with the Little Vermilion cutting through on the east side.
Most of the calls here are for the steep and overgrown parts of a property: ravine edges, back lots that have gone to brush, and wooded ground someone wants opened up to build on or just to use again. A tracked mulcher works those slopes and leaves the soil covered.
La Salle, Peru, Oglesby and Spring Valley run together closely enough that a job in one usually means the machine is already nearby for the next.
What we get called for here
- Land Clearing. Wooded or neglected acreage opened back up for pasture, food plots, or a building site.
- Forestry Mulching. Standing brush and saplings ground into cover in one pass. Nothing burned, nothing hauled.
- Right-of-Way Clearing. Fence rows, field edges, trails and utility corridors put back to passable.
- Grading & Land Leveling. Low spots filled, high spots cut, water sent where you actually want it.

What does a job cost?
It depends on acreage, how thick the growth is, how big the material is, the terrain, and how hard the site is to get equipment into. Two properties of the same acreage can be a full day apart in work. That’s why estimates are free and why it’s worth looking at the ground rather than quoting off a map.
Do you work year-round?
Yes. Mulching and clearing carry on through the colder months, and winter is often the better time for it — the ground is firm, there are no leaves in the way, and you can see what you’re working with. Snow plowing runs through the same season.
How long does a job take?
Small jobs — a fence row, an overgrown lot, a driveway regrade — are often a day or less. An acre of heavy, mature growth takes considerably longer than an acre of light brush. You’ll get a realistic time estimate along with the price, not an optimistic one.
Do I need to be there while the work is done?
Not usually. What matters is that the boundaries are clear and we agree beforehand on exactly what’s coming out and what’s staying. Marking anything you want left — a good tree, a well head, a buried line, a property pin — is time well spent.
