Where OPS Works — Peru, IL and the Surrounding Area
Based in Ohio, Illinois, working across the Illinois Valley and travelling up to about two hours for the right job: the Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, Bloomington-Normal, Galesburg and Macomb.
How far the truck goes
The yard is in Ohio, Illinois, in northern Bureau County. From there, most regular work falls inside about an hour’s drive — that covers the Illinois Valley towns, north through Lee and Whiteside counties, and east toward DeKalb.
Beyond that, OPS travels up to about two hours from the yard for the right job — the Quad Cities and Clinton, Iowa to the west, Rockford to the north, Peoria and Bloomington-Normal to the south, and Galesburg and Macomb to the southwest. Jobs at that range are worth planning around rather than squeezing in, and larger projects there make more sense than short ones. Outside the map entirely, it’s still worth asking — one of James’s Google reviews specifically mentions him being “willing to travel where needed.”
For a big enough job the truck goes farther still, three hours or more: the far west suburbs around Yorkville, Oswego, Plainfield and Naperville, northwest to Galena and Dubuque, west to Cedar Rapids, east to the Chicago area, and out to Springfield, Champaign and Madison. Those trips are for larger acreage and multi-day work, so call first and we will tell you straight whether yours fits.
Towns with their own page
The areas below where we do the most work have their own page with detail on the ground and the services that come up most there. Peru has a second, longer write-up covering land clearing and excavating in Peru specifically.

Where and when we work
Not seeing yours? Call or text (815) 240-9065 and ask James, or read the common questions.
How far do you travel?
Regular work runs from the Illinois Valley north to Sterling and Dixon, east toward DeKalb, and west into the Quad Cities. Outside that, it’s still worth asking — travel for a job that justifies it isn’t a problem.
What size jobs do you take?
Anything from a single overgrown lot up to multi-acre clearing and full site work. Smaller jobs closer to home are easy to fit in; smaller jobs at the far edge of the service area are best paired with other work in the same week.
Do you work year-round?
Yes. Mulching and clearing carry on through the colder months, and winter is often the better time for it — the ground is firm, there are no leaves in the way, and you can see what you’re working with. Snow plowing runs through the same season.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text, or send the form on the contact page. The details that help most up front: roughly how many acres, how thick it is, what’s growing on it, whether a truck and trailer can get in, and when you’d like it done.
